5 reasons to work for startups

Ownership π€

if you are the type of guy who loves to take ownership πͺ of your work startup is an excellent place. Startups provide ample opportunities for ownership. in other words, we can also say startups provide a responsibility on your weak shoulder (if you are not going gym πͺ).
do you think taking responsibility is good for personal & career developmentπ€?
I think itβs the most crucial part of personal & professional development π.
if you feel responsible for something itβs natural you are going to do whatever it takes π€. you are ready to jump out of your comfort zone to do work.
ownership makes you feel important. it gives the sense you are doing something very important for the organization π. without it, the organization can not possibly progress.
Imagine having ownership to generate 50 leads in 1 month or ship a software feature in 2 weeks or generate 50000 rs revenue in 1 week. whatever field it definitely provides ownership to do things that is important for the organization.
such important result-oriented ownership forces you to jump out of your comfort zone. pushed to learn & try new things, and be more productive, & flexible πͺ.
You can be a spoiled kid who didn't cover the toilet seat π©(compare it with a large company employee who has very less-value work ownership ) or can be a master of the work you are doingβοΈ!
Culture π

if you want to experience positive culture startups is for you! especially early-stage startups that consist of a very low number of employees. it means politics will be very low π, no more bad-mouthing about a colleague πΉ, & work will be more creative. you feel more connected when the number of people is less in the organization π. you know every employee's name which is not possible in a bigger organization.
an early-stage startup is like a small boat π€ struck in the middle of the ocean π . every person on the boat feels connected with each other. they are ready to help each other. the only way to drive a boat πΆ is together.
everyone has plenty of shares in the work, and startup culture is pretty transparent so whatever you do it didnβt go unnoticed π.
every startup culture is different you can work for a startup that has a party culture πΊ π» (do work & enjoy the party), or it can be an outing culture (do work & enjoy nature), itβs interesting and completely different from a large organization.
Challenging πͺ

Many people love the feel of adrenaline generated from challenges πͺ. the startup ecosystem is about facing challenges. Many people join startups simply because they look for challenging π€ work. it can be complex software that you are trying to design or build a cost-effective marketing strategy to launch the product in the market or doing a sale of product that is new to market irrespective of the field it is quite challenging.
many people love π to work in early-stage startups as itβs exciting to be part of a small team solving real-world problems. it provides you an exposure to face challenging work π. Its result-oriented ecosystem forces you to take ownership to do things in your own way. you can test & try new methodology of work without being influenced by other person's shadow.
Good challenges are needed to stretch skills π€. if you are facing the same challenge in day-to-day work life for years probably your skill development is saturated π©. it should be exposed to a variety of real-time problems to move next level. you can read about building rockets π whole life but what if you havenβt build actually any rockets π ? you can be full of theoretical knowledge but expertise comes from practical exposure in other words facing real-time market challenges.
Out-of-Box Thinking π‘

the purpose of a startup is to implement out-of-box ideas π‘π‘ . the idea that did not exist before in the world is a startup. itβs a great place if you want to explore your out-of-box thinking π€ . nobody is commanding or dictating you on work. a startup is like an ecosystem to develop the potential to think π differently.
not convinced with my reasoning? the best example would be APPLE π π in starting days.

itβs not just a mere line but a representation of the whole organization. itβs an inspiration to everyone both inside the company and outside to think differently. apple become so successful because it was able to develop an ecosystem where people can implement their creative ideas π‘ .
why not join a similar startup where you can harness true potential πͺ? working for a startup is like it automatically puts you in the spot where thinking π is everything. startups survive on the foundation of creativity. itβs not possible to survive in the market if you are not a creative startup. it provides ownership, in other words, flexibility to own a solution you want. itβs solely on you how you want to implement it.
many people are skillful at the starting age of their career but with time their skill diminishes π© as they are not able to think differently. they are facing the same day-to-day work problem for years π©. works become easy & repetitive for them leading to no self-development.
Rapid Career Growth π°

itβs an old misconception that startup gives less salary reality most developed startup pays handsomely π΅ . startups need well-skilled people from the market to implement their ideas & they are ready to pay any price. the only thing limiting you to make money is skills. you can even argue to get equity in an early-stage startup for your services many startups anyway provide it to early-stage employees π΅. I will say itβs an opportunity to go big πͺ!

End Note: Donβt let the job security misconception go in your head. the only way to secure a job is to become skillful π. try to be skillful as much as you can by getting exposed to real-world problems πͺ which you found interesting.
